When it comes to running paid advertisements, there is a lot more to it than we think. You have been spending all this time building up your brand, you have cool new products that you are ready to get out in the public and into your audience’s hands. You can begin advertising organically through social media, Instagram, Facebook, etc., but it can end up being a little tougher to reach your target audience efficiently. This is why you want to begin running paid advertisements! However, you want to make sure that you are spending your advertising dollars effectively and avoiding the common mistakes that businesses are making.
To demonstrate the negative effects of advertising mistakes, we used a bucket to represent your business, and filled it with water that represents your advertising dollars. Each time you make one of these mistakes, we drilled a hole in the bucket to signify the money leaking out (which obviously, we don’t really want).
Mistake #1: You believe that advertisements alone will help get you sales. This is not the case, if you are relying on the advertising to do the work for you, you are essentially wasting your money. You need to make sure that you have the right products, quality products, and your ads are going out to the right people.
Mistake #2: The message you are putting out is unfocused or unclear, or your content isn’t in line with what your brand is all about. You want to make sure that there is a consistent theme with your brand, your message, your company, and your content.
Mistake #3: You don’t have a call to action. While general brand awareness is good, if there is no call to action the customer doesn’t know what they are supposed to do, which won’t lead to sales like you are wanting. You want to make sure to have a proper call to action that is clear and in line with the action you want the customer to take.
