In this chapter we’ll be discussing one of the most important, but often overlooked topics of becoming an entrepreneur. The MINDSET you’ll need to be successful. Before you decide you want to build an apparel line, or any business at all, here are some Key questions you should be asking yourself.

  1. What type of business & life do you want to build?
  2. What do you want to spend your time doing?
  3. Identify your destination, where exactly do you want to go, what denes “success” for you?
  4. Have a real understanding of the path you’ll need to take and the work involved to get there.
  5. Find and maintain a work pace you can keep up for years.

MINDSET

Just as you pick a destination and plug a location into Google maps before starting a journey, it’s important that you figure out exactly what your goal is before starting any business venture. Particularly a clothing line as they typically have their own specific problems, scaling tiers, life cycles and trajectories.

And just like with any map, you need 2 points to create a navigation plan.

  1. An honest and accurate assessment of where you’re currently at, and
  2. A clear idea of where you want to go.

Most people gloss over the first point because they assume they already know where they’re at, but in life, when you really drill down into it, it’s surprisingly rare that people actually know themselves well enough to have an unbiased perspective on where they really are.

You have to know where you are before you can plan where to go.

Meaning, you have to know yourself, what makes you happy, what drives you, what makes you feel fulfilled, how much work you’re willing to do to achieve your goals… and also what you’re NOT willing to do, what are the things you’re not willing to compromise on?

Total guide is 5 pages long and includes a Checklist Worksheet on Page 5.
